The birth of a new model

Resource management, especially human resources, has become a pain! If you are part of a business, you have undoubtedly noticed the race for agility, expertise, involvement and flexibility to be able to adapt to a fast world that is ever-changing and that needs to adapt to the current ambiguous economy.

From this observation, La Collab was born in March of 2015. A collaboration between Laura Strelezki, and Célia Chauvet from the end of 2016 onwards. Experts in marketing and communication, they’d recently become freelancers. They were driven by a common purpose: to change the standards of the world of work. 

La Collab is a new unique hybrid model, with a participative leadership and horizontal management by a collective of freelance experts. We are the third voice: neither a communication agency nor a linking platform. We are self-employed but together. We are part of the future of work.

The freelancers who work together in teams are an effective answer to the competitive, traditional, inscrutable services market that has a hard time reinventing itself and adapting to the new needs of businesses.

At La Collab, the client works in their own project. La Collab does not work for you. It works with you. You are part of the team: you bring your product expertise and knowledge of your line of business. We bring the competences, resources and methodologies: select flexible experts, workshops and trainings that favor co-creation. How is a project tackled?

Needs assessment

There is no project without a need, so a first meeting allows us to determine the goal and objectives of the project. This step allows us to identify the best solution, the necessary competences and the work modalities to be expected.

Creation of a customized team

The project leader, the main point of contact for clients and experts alike, will ask the freelancers whose expertise concerning both their work and your line of business best aligns with the objectives of the project, to join the team.

Scope of the project

The project leader writes an offer based on the freelancers’ rates and determines precisely the different stages of the project with the team.

Project launch

Once the offer is accepted and the administrative formalities are in order, the project will be launched: the client and the freelancers work hand in hand to meet the objectives.
The work can be done in-house or remotely, depending on the chosen methodology.

What is a collective?

A group of people united around a project / structure / brand by common values and the desire to help each other create a positive dynamic, share efforts and resources: networks, expertise, methods.

Thanks to collective intelligence and our combined forces, together we shape common marketing, communications and digital projects. Each profession is represented in order to create positive synergies, that value both the freelancer, the collective and the client. The collective as a structure is a new model. Hybrid, in between a traditional business (agency, consulting firm…) and the self-employed who you can call upon through portals, platforms…

Which freelancer profiles are part of the collective?

We have over 30 professions within the collective. Mostly in the fields of marketing, communication and digital. We also have HR experts amongst us. Discover everything we can offer you on this page.

How are freelancers selected?

Unlike platforms, we don’t aim for quantity but for quality of profiles. The strict selection process is the same for all freelancers and is led by our specialists in recruitment and management of independent talent.

A freelancer can join the collective based on various criteria: technical competences, experience (in business fields, profession, years), know-how (teamwork, flexibility and the will to satisfy the client), values (goodwill and usefulness), work ethics (availability, remote work/in-house, daily rates…), and motivation. But most importantly, teamwork.

What is the payment model for freelancers in La Collab?

We think that the benefit of our model lies in its talents and organisation. But also in its transparency and respect for the “right price” for everyone.

The client business benefits from the value created by the collective, and thus pays the collaborators of the project.

Each freelancer is free to propose the rate they wish for the project. We don’t work with pre-determined price lists (except for the catalogue of the La Collab Academy trainings). We believe that the created value depends on different aspects: seniority, technicality, reactivity, exceptionality…

On top of the operational budget, the compensation for the business La Collab SAS is added. La Collab has created and managed a model that allows the client to access multiple freelancers, with a proven method for collaboration and a commercial and legal security. It corresponds to 15% of the amount of each invoice.
